Community Treatment and Care
Nurse-led clinic services, often called CTAC, delivered locally in partnership with general practice.
Community Treatment and Care services provide procedures that were previously delivered directly by GP practices. Depending on clinical need and the local service, this can include wound care and dressings, suture or clip removal, blood tests, ear-wax management and other treatment-room procedures.
How Eastfield patients access CTAC
Midlothian CTAC appointments are generally arranged through the GP team. Contact Eastfield in the usual way; the team will confirm whether CTAC is the right service and arrange or advise on the appropriate route.
CTAC clinics operate at several Midlothian sites, including Eastfield Medical Practice and Penicuik Health Centre. The location offered depends on the procedure, capacity and service arrangements.
If a hospital team says you need post-operative wound care or removal of stitches or clips, follow the discharge instructions they gave you. Contact the practice if the route is unclear.
