About Eastfield Medical Practice and how we work.
Eastfield Medical Practice is an NHS GP practice in Penicuik, serving registered patients across the local area of Midlothian. Our aim is to provide safe, effective and compassionate care, and to help every patient reach the right care, from the right person, at the right time.
We use care navigation to help patients access the most appropriate service, whether that is a GP, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, our Practice Pharmacist, our Advanced Physiotherapist, or another NHS service. This helps us prioritise urgent problems and protect appointment availability for everyone.
Eastfield is a GP training practice. We support GP registrars, foundation doctors and medical students from the University of Edinburgh, all under appropriate clinical supervision. Some consultations may be recorded or observed for training, but only ever with your consent, and declining will not affect your care.
Working together
Good care depends on mutual respect. We will treat every patient with courtesy and respect, and we ask that patients extend the same to our staff and to one another. Abuse, threats, shouting, discriminatory language or intimidation towards our team will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the practice list.
