What should I do in a life-threatening emergency?

Call 999 immediately. Do not contact the practice first.

What should I do when the practice is closed?

Call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent medical advice. Call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.

When should I phone for an appointment?

Phone between 8:30am and 5:30pm on working days. For a same-day appointment, phone before 10am where possible.

Why does reception ask what my appointment is about?

A brief description helps route you to the right clinician or service. The information is treated confidentially.

How long does a repeat prescription take?

Allow three full working days for the practice to process a repeat prescription, then check with your pharmacy before travelling.

What if I have run out of medication?

Contact your community pharmacy first. If the issue is urgent and the pharmacy cannot help, contact the practice or call 111 when we are closed.

When should I phone for test results?

Phone after 10am once the expected timescale has passed. Reception cannot interpret results or give clinical advice.

When do I need a fit note?

You normally need a fit note only after more than seven calendar days of illness. For the first seven days, use self-certification.

What can Pharmacy First treat?

Pharmacists can advise and treat many minor illnesses. They will direct you to another service when needed.

How do I register with Eastfield?

Check that your address is within the practice boundary, then complete the secure registration form.

Can I ask for a chaperone?

Yes. You can request a chaperone for any examination, consultation or procedure.

How do I make a complaint?

Use our feedback and complaints guidance or contact the practice. Complaining will not affect your care.
